Today was a really good day. My class IV pt came back this morning. I got 2 quads done on him. He was late and I was really thinking that he wouldn't come so that was good. I have never scaled that far subgingival before! It was really tenacious calculus too. I was a little too tentative at first, but (with my instructors help!) I was finally able to find it and get the right angle with my gracey. That was a good experience.

My afternoon pt ended up being 2 quads of a III and 2 of a V. That was great. I was able to get him all done! :-) His calculus wasn't as hard as my morning pt's. That was a blessing because my hands are kind of tired. I used my curved ultrasonic tips which was good because I haven't really used those much. Also I was able to pass off my last 2 pe's!! I am so excited that I am done with those and it is only January. I still have to be the CA a few times, but those pe's are pretty much a foregone thing so yay!

You are right. You did have a difficult first patient that day. Plus, it was a good experience for gracey instrumentation. You do a good job. Nicely done.
