I finished up my requirements for the semester this morning!! I had a quad of class 4 and a 1A pt. The class 4 quad was pretty challenging. I was working all among the furcations in the posterior and her central incisor had 8-9mm pockets! I felt like I was going so far subgingival. She kept flinching too which made it more difficult. I had to give her 5 injections. (All together, not just in that area) Anyway, I missed a few spots, but overall I felt pretty good about it.
One of the other students took x-rays on my board pt this afternoon. They turned out really well except it looks like there was a scratch on one of the phosphor plates and I have to re-take 2 of them next time he comes in. Bummer. The next time I see him will be mockboards so it will have to be after that that I retake them. My other afternoon pt didn't come today, but I still get credit for my production day so that's good. I've been worried about scheduling that production day so I'm glad that it's all done!!
Goal for me: work on better posture!! I tend to lean over the patient and I don't even know I'm doing it at first. I need to be more aware of that.
