LA Mockboard

Well, the LA mockboard didn't go as well as I'd hoped. The written was fine, but I got too nervous during the clinical and that threw me off. I didn't pass. :-( It seemed like everything that could go wrong did. Maybe this means that the real board will go great! I did learn a few things: if your needle bends when you're trying to recap use the hemostats to hold the needle lid when you recap the bent needle. Also, to keep the needle from bowing while you aspirate compensate by angling the syringe down a little. Another thing I learned is to run your finger down the vestibule until you hit the bone and then retract the cheek for the PSA so that you don't come too far anterior. I'm sure glad we had a run-through before the real thing. Maybe I won't be so nervous next time.

I'm sure that's why they invented mockboards. It's still a little disconcerting to not do well. Hopefully the real thing will be better. I will definitely send you good vibes. When are you taking the for reals?

I take the real thing on May 8th! I'm taking the hygiene clinical on May 9th at 7am. Then I can collapse for a few days!!!
